Ricardo Energy & Environment’s Sustainable Transport Practice delivers cutting edge strategic support and analysis to clients all over the world on the major environmental, social and economic challenges facing the transport sector. We provide support to the European Commission to help develop future CO2 standards for cars and vans, as well as supporting the analysis of the full range of transport sector policies, including measures to improve safety, cut congestion and improve the overall efficiency of the transport sector. Our work for the UK Government includes managing major programmes to help deliver electric vehicles, hydrogen refuelling infrastructure and advanced biofuels production plants to support the decarbonisation of the transport sector, as well providing detailed techno-economic analysis of transport sector decarbonisation pathways. We also support major international airports in understanding their current and future emissions profiles, and we carry out socio-economic analysis for major international corporations. Our transport sector work is highly influential, and has been used to support the development of the EU’s 2011 Transport White Paper as well as the UK’s ground-breaking Climate Change Act.
