    The Water and Environment practice of Ricardo Energy & Environment, offers a comprehensive range of specialist services within the environmental consultancy sector. Nationally and internationally recognised for our expertise in planning and overseeing complex and sensitive projects, our skills have been utilised by a wide range of clients within the public and private sectors including the European Commission, government, water companies and developers.


    We are looking for an office Administrator to join our office support team based in Manchester for a 12 month maternity cover contract. The role will support senior leadership team across the Water and Environment practice in administrating our sales pipeline database and a number of other business development activities, plus providing general admin support during busy periods. The individual will be expected to liaise with a number of business leaders to keep our Customer Relationship Management pipeline data up to date to ensure we have accurate management information on the amount of opportunities we have and their status. The company also maintains a database of case studies for use in proposals, it is envisaged that this person will administer the update of this data base.

    In addition, during busy times and to cover other administrative support there will be a need to undertake some other administrative tasks including travel and accommodation booking.


    Key accountabilities:

    • Updating our sales pipeline to tight monthly deadlines to provide management information to our leadership team, and upwards to the overall Ricardo Group.
    • Ensuring the pipeline data is an accurate view of our future work.
    • Administer the up keep and input to the practices database that holds a range of case studies.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Practice and its 4 offices based across the UK (this role will be based in Manchester).


    Key competencies, experience, skills and behaviours:

    • Experienced in working in data bases.
    • Experienced in using MS office and specifically Excel and Word.
    • A good communicator.
    • Ability to provide management information via the use of PowerPoint.
    • An ability to pick up and use Ricardo corporate systems (support will be provided), preferably including the use of Agresso.
    • Accurate data inputting to tight deadlines.
    • Excellent team working skills together with strong communication skills and a close attention to detail
    • Enthusiastic and self-motivated to thrive in this busy and demanding environment
    • Excellent organisational skills
