We have an opportunity for a Senior / Principal Consultant to support a range of exciting and innovative environmental policy projects within our Air Quality & Environment Practice. The practice includes over 100 consultants, scientists, engineers and economists who develop and apply state-of-the-art tools and techniques to deliver effective solutions to difficult environmental problems. We are one of Europe’s leading consultancies supporting national Governments, the European Commission and other international bodies in the development, implementation and appraisal of environmental policy. We have recently won and delivered innovative studies in countries such as China, India and Saudi Arabia. The team has won several exciting high-profile contracts in the past year in areas that include air quality and emissions, industrial pollution control, agriculture and chemicals management. In response to our recent successes we are growing our team to support delivery and further expansion going forward. Additionally, there is the potential to support other policy areas such as water, transport, climate change, waste and resources and energy.
Working in international, multi-disciplinary teams, you will provide policy development and implementation analysis; evaluate existing policy and technical measures; support cost-benefit analyses and carry out stakeholder consultation.
Alongside project delivery, you will manage individual projects, write winning proposals, contribute toward business development and support the development of more junior colleagues.
Key competencies and experience
The ideal candidate will be qualified to Master’s degree level in environmental policy, science, engineering, law, economics, social sciences or a closely related subject. We would typically expect 5 to 10 years of relevant experience within consultancy, government, research or industry.
Location: We are open to the right person being based abroad in another EU MS.
You will be familiar with the process of policy development and implementation, evaluation of technical and policy measures, cost-benefit analysis, data collection, validation and analysis.
You should have the ability to interact with policy makers at national and/or international level and to write reports in English to a professional standard.
Strong project management experience will be an advantage, as will be proven business development experience, including proposal writing, generation of new business leads, identification of new service offerings, building client relationships
