Ricardo-AEA a leading sustainability consultancy combining energy, climate change, environmental and chemical risk expertise and is the owner of the National Chemical Emergency Centre. NCEC has a 40+ year reputation as a premium provider of global chemical emergency response provision. NCEC works with global client base including 50% of the world’s top 100 chemical manufacturers and a large number of other public and private sector clients. NCEC wishes to further develop its crisis communications business and is looking for the right individual to lead its offerings to the market place.
NCEC already has a number of crisis communications customers who buy NCEC’s telephone emergency response support for general crises as oppose to our core business of chemical emergency response. We now want to provide this and consultancy services to a wider number of existing and potential customers.
NCEC is seeking a talented Consultant within crisis management/business continuity to develop, deliver and support The National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC’s) growth in this area of business. This person will work with our Senior Consultant in helping to develop and deliver our consultancy offering across four main strands
The role will therefore include a spectrum of activities revolving around technical delivery of crisis management consultancy offerings. The individual will report to the existing Senior Consultant for Crisis Management to develop NCEC’s Crisis Management business for which we have strong growth aspirations. Therefore the ability to deliver top quality work, build customer relationships and maximise potential to secure follow-on work will be a requirement of the role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Crisis Management consultant with strong technical skills to help build a new business with the opportunity for substantial personal growth in a fast developing and successful business environment.
Skills and Behaviours:
Relevant experience in a high-risk industry such as the chemical industry, O&G or manufacturing industries (either operationally or from a reputation perspective).
Experience in handling a real crisis / incident
Knowledge of media response including social media approaches during a crisis / incident
Professional membership with BCI / IAEM / EPS
